My open fire. A little advice from one who now knows. I love to burn wood on my open fire but I also want to be a responsible person. Did you ever consider where your firewood comes from, who cut that tree and is that person going to re plant another tree in its place. After a lot of research I became aware of a worldwide organization that monitors the cutting of trees. The Forest Stewardship Council, (FSC) an organization that monitor closely not just the harvesting of trees but also the impact on the local environment that the trees come from.
The mission of the Forest Stewardship Council is to improve the management of the world’s forests, ensuring that forest management is environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable.
The best quality kindling is produced from kiln dried soft wood, mainly pine and spruce.
